I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and went to Catholic school for 12 years. I had a bunny, numerous chickens and a beagle puppy. Not at the same time.
I got a journalism degree at Bowling Green State University in northwestern Ohio and my first job was reporting local news for a radio station in Toledo. Two years later, I moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where my journalism career died. I worked for a bank and a car dealership and then got a job in the ad agency business.
In 1986, I relocated to Los Angeles where I began my spiritual development. Three years later, I went out on my own as a freelance writer and worked for automotive, financial services and aerospace clients. I also spent 5 years as communications director for a large LA nonprofit.
In 2009, I discovered Reiki, which transformed me into the healer I am today. After completing Reiki I and II, I began working with rescued animals and continued my Reiki training until completing Master certification in 2012, the same year I moved to Denver.
I continued freelancing and trained as a volunteer vet tech at Dumb Friends League and then volunteered at Cat Care Society. In May 2016, I went to England for a Holy Fire Reiki Master certification. My last corporate gig ended in November 2016, and I began laying the groundwork for a Reiki practice. I created Reiki River of Peace to bring healing to animals and their people, and to support stronger understanding between them. I am devoted to the horses at Zuma’s Rescue Ranch in Littleton, where I have been a volunteer since 2014.
My practice is based in Thornton, Colorado, a part of the north metro Denver area.
